Who We Are

Over 700 men and women make up our association, including our members, their spouses and partners, and other family members. They enjoy activities on the water and events ashore in many cities , mostly along the East Coast. We have designated Port Captains in many harbors who can provide local knowledge to make any cruise more enjoyable.

Many of our members are also members of yacht clubs with fixed facilities. While those clubs offer the ability to socialize and sail in one location, the Corinthians provide an added benefit of cruising and socializing in many locations along the Mid-Atlantic and North East coast, with some expansion now to areas from North Carolina to Florida. For nine decades, our members have enjoyed many benefits, especially lasting friendships with fellow sailors.

Why Join?

There are many benefits and opportunities to satisfy a variety of sailing interests.

We provide many of the same opportunities to meet like-minded sailors and enjoy on the water activities as do yacht clubs and other sailing groups, including boating in many different locations and shore-based activities, such as social and educational events.

If you are a current member of a yacht club, we offer a perfect complement to your club’s activities – perhaps on dates when your club has not scheduled events and the opportunities to enjoy distant harbors and sailing grounds and cruising in company with others.

As a prospective member, it’s important for you to find out if this organization meets your interests.  One way we do this is arranging an in-person meeting with one of our members at a location convenient to you.  This discussion will enable you to fully explore the activities offered and assess your anticipated level of participation.

Boat owners and skippers who may charter privately, as well as crew, will enjoy the benefits of our group, ranging from weekend and longer cruises in your local area and to more distant ports, casual racing (if so inclined), and on-shore social and educational events that offer the opportunity to discuss sailing, navigation, and maintenance experiences.  This will enable you to get to know our skippers, some of whom may be looking for crew to join in on a cruise or delivery to the cruise location.

We encourage all members to be active.  In addition to participating in on-the-water and on-shore events, we encourage volunteering.  We always need volunteers to help the Association thrive.  Some examples are: join a cruise planning committee or one of our other committees, organize an event or seminar, join the leadership team, and many more opportunities to meet new people and develop long term friendships.   By taking part, your input adds to the continued success of the Association. Your involvement is both needed and appreciated.
