I’ve been a member for 2 years. I Live in Northern NJ, Sail out of Nyack, NY and occasionally East Haverstraw, NY. Also sail in the Hudson River, Mid Atlantic and New England waters. It’s great to meet up with Corinthians in all these places. - Jeffery L
The Corinthians have the perfect balance of year round shore side gatherings with cruising opportunities from the Chesapeake to Maine. The most attractive draw for me was The Corinthians affiliation with London’s Little Ship Club which opened European cruising waters to our membership. - Bill B.
What attracted me to The Corinthians? Very simply, it was the caliber and character of the members. Great people, fun to be around and, importantly, mostly very competent sailors. - Fritz S
We live in northern Virginia so our primary sailing waters are the Chesapeake Bay. When looking for a sailing group that is fun and exciting and that sailed beyond the Chesapeake, the Corinthians was our answer and have been a member since 2014. - Hank & Susan R
Just a note of thanks to those of you who participated in this year’s Mass Bay Heritage Cruise, with special appreciation for the outstanding job done by Barbara. Kelly and I are new Corinthians members. This was our first official cruise with the organization, even though we did a partial trip with the Chesapeake Bay fleet as guests last year. We were impressed and felt very welcome. This cruise was special for us. As full-time cruisers, we’ve sailed thousands of miles along the coast, the Florida Keys, and the Bahamas over the last 2 years, but we had never come north beyond the Chesapeake. This is also the area where I grew up, so for me it was a sort of homecoming. It was a joy to see the beach where I learned to swim and the city where I went to college - all from the water. It was fun hearing people on the VHF and ashore speaking my language. Growing up in the Boston area, I strangely had no interest in boats. As a kid, I looked at sailboats as complex things with all sorts of wires and ropes, and for me that translated to “too complicated”. I also had a severe tendency toward seasickness. Luckily, I took sailing lessons 12 years ago, loved it (and apparently outgrew seasickness), bought a boat, and have been living aboard for 8 years. Ever since, it’s been a goal of mine to sail my boat “home”. Now Kelly and I can say mission accomplished!
Frankly, we could not imagine a nicer group of sailors to have shared this experience. Thank you for welcoming us, and for a fantastic week cruising some of the coolest places with the coolest people. We are looking forward to many more Corinthians cruises.
